Beginning counselling can feel like a big step, especially if this is your first time reaching out or if you are returning after some time away. My hope is to make the process feel clear, respectful, and as comfortable as possible.

You are welcome to begin by contacting me by phone or email to request a free 15-minute consultation by phone or virtual meeting. This gives us a chance to briefly connect, talk about what you are looking for, and consider whether RLN Counselling Services may be a good fit. If you already feel ready to begin, you may also book a session directly by phone, email, or through the Jane app.

Once your first session is booked, you will receive an intake form to complete before we meet. This form helps me understand a little about your background, what brings you to counselling, and what you may be hoping for as we begin our work together.

In our first session, we will review your intake form and spend time talking about your goals for counselling. There is no pressure to have everything figured out before you arrive. This is a space where you can share what feels important, ask questions, and begin at a pace that feels manageable for you.

Ongoing sessions are shaped by the goals you identify and the needs that emerge over time. Counselling is a collaborative process, and your goals may shift as you gain insight, experience change, or begin to understand your story in new ways.

I often recommend beginning with weekly sessions when possible, as this can help build trust, consistency, and momentum in the counselling process. Over time, we can discuss whether weekly, bi-weekly, or another rhythm feels most supportive for your needs.

I also understand that life, schedules, finances, and capacity can affect how often someone is able to attend counselling. We will work together to find a rhythm that is realistic, supportive, and respectful of where you are.
